I ran all the install disks that came with the controller, downloaded the updates, and applied them. Styled in metallic silver and featuring a blue LED display and rubber controllers, this 49-key keyboard is light and of reasonably sturdy build. I've contacted E-MU regarding this issue, and after dozens of replies from both sides they told me to send it back to them for a possible repair, which I have no intention of doing since it'll cost me an arm and a leg just to ship it down to the States (I live in Canada), let alone the repair bill. I have an xboard-61 that I am trying to run over USB. However, E-MU - who are renowned for their expertise in many other areas of music technology - were undeterred and waded in with the Xboard 49.

Upgrading/reinstalling the driver can not be done because the driver installation application from E-MU does not detect the device either.

Windows detects it as an "Unrecognized Device" and will not respond to it. Now when I connect the device to my computer, the power light turns on and then goes off in a split second. Sure, it didn't need to be done, but what harm could it do? Poof, it simply doesn't work any more. Then one day, after formatting my computer, I made the stupid mistake of also reinstalling the driver for my XBoard.

The drivers and control applications for the keyboard worked fine, and the one time that I updated the driver the device worked fine afterwards. The story is this: I purchased the XBoard months ago, and from the beginning it was working perfectly fine. Hello everyone!
